Today
The last change in the brigades structure occurred when the 31st Tank Regiment transferred to the Cavalry School on 1 January 2011, followed by the renaming of the brigade on 1 October 2011 as Pinerolo Mechanized Brigade. In 2013 it was announced that the brigade would receive by 2016 at the latest the 8th Cavalry Regiment Lancieri di Montebello from the disbanding Granatieri di Sardegna Mechanized Brigade to replace the 21st Self-propelled Artillery Regiment Trieste, which is scheduled to disband. Also in 2013 the brigade received the Pinerolo Logistic Regiment.
Today the brigade is composed of the following units:
- Pinerolo Combat Service Support Battalion in Bari
- 7th Bersaglieri Regiment in Bari
- 9th Infantry Regiment Bari in Trani
- 82nd Infantry Regiment Torino in Barletta
- 21st Self-propelled Artillery Regiment Trieste in Foggia
- 11th Engineer Regiment in Foggia
- Pinerolo Logistic Regiment in Bari
All regiments are battalion sized.
