Piers Corbyn

Piers Corbyn

Piers Richard Corbyn (born 10 March 1947) is the owner of the business WeatherAction which makes weather forecasts up to a year in advance, and which he also used to bet on, before being barred for making too much profit. He is known for regularly beating official forecasts and for media appearances where he explains why he does: because they ignore that the sun's particles and magnetism, as well as the earth's magnetism, is what determines the weather as well as the climate.

Famous quotes containing the word piers:

Three miles long and two streets wide, the town curls around the bay ... a gaudy run with Mediterranean splashes of color, crowded steep-pitched roofs, fishing piers and fishing boats whose stench of mackerel and gasoline is as aphrodisiac to the sensuous nose as the clean bar-whisky smell of a nightclub where call girls congregate.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
