Carnival
Pierrot is a familiar figure at many carnivals of the world, most notably Uruguayan Carnival, as well as at festivals in Trinidad and Tobago. At the latter festivals, he appears as "Pierrot Grenade", a descendant of his namesake, but dressed—at least in recent years—in narrow over-lapping strips of brightly colored cloth. He likes to show his scholarly erudition by declaiming Shakespeare and spelling long words. (View a dancing Pierrot Grenade.)
