Pierre Stephen Robert Payne

Pierre Stephen Robert Payne (4 December 1911 – 3 March 1983) was a professor of English literature, lecturer in naval architecture, novelist, historian, poet and biographer. Born in Cornwall, Payne was the son of an English naval architect and a French mother.
