Philadelphia International Airport Terminals (SEPTA Station) - Airport Terminal A East/West

Airport Terminal A East/West

  • Airport Terminal A East serves Gates #A1-A13.
  • Airport Terminal A West serves Gates #A14-A26.

The Terminal A-West/East station is located on the right half of the Terminal A-West pre-security area, on Level 2, closest to gate A-15. Located on a common platform with Terminal B, the Terminal A station entered service in 1990 along with the terminal itself (originally constructed as a concrete shell in the mid-1970s, PHL's Terminal A had remained unfinished for about 15 more years due to funding disputes with Delaware County, on whose land this part of the city-owned airport is situated, and issues regarding customs facilities for what was then PHL's new international terminal).

Famous quotes containing the words airport, terminal, east and/or west:

It was like taking a beloved person to the airport and returning to an empty house. I miss the people. I miss the world.
    Susan Sontag (b. 1933)

All sin tends to be addictive, and the terminal point of addiction is what is called damnation.
    —W.H. (Wystan Hugh)

Everybody ought to have a lower East Side in their life.
    Irving Berlin (1888–1989)

Anyone with a real taste for solitude who indulges that taste encounters the dangers of any other drug-taker. The habit grows. You become an addict.... Absorbed in the visions of solitude, human beings are only interruptions. What voice can equal the voices of solitude? What sights equal the movement of a single day’s tide of light across the floor boards of one room? What drama be as continuously absorbing as the interior one?
    —Jessamyn West (1902–1984)
