Famous quotes containing the words peter, steak and/or house:

Ellie: By the way, what’s your name?
    Peter: What’s that?
    Ellie: Who are you?
Peter: Who, me? I’m the whippoorwill that cries in the night. I’m the soft morning breeze that caresses your lovely face.
    Ellie: You’ve got a name, haven’t you?
Peter: Yeah, I got a name. Peter Warne.
Ellie: Peter Warne? I don’t like it.
    Robert Riskin (1897–1955)

Being American is to eat a lot of beef steak, and boy, we’ve got a lot more beef steak than any other country, and that’s why you ought to be glad you’re an American. And people have started looking at these big hunks of bloody meat on their plates, you know, and wondering what on earth they think they’re doing.
    Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (b. 1922)

Within the memory of many of my townsmen the road near which my house stands resounded with the laugh and gossip of inhabitants, and the woods which border it were notched and dotted here and there with their little gardens and dwellings, though it was then much more shut in by the forest than now.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
