During his career he has acted as a senior consultant to UNDP, UNEP and UNESCO, and he has advised a number of International conferences including the UN Conference of the Human Environment (1972), The UN Conference on Human Settlements (1976), and the 1992 UN Earth Summit where he was an adviser on both climate change and biodiversity.
