History
The Perse School for Girls was founded in 1881 by Miss Street. The name of Dr Stephen Perse, a fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (who died in the 1600s) is associated with the school. The School celebrated their 130th birthday at the beginning of 2011. It was also part of the inspiration for the St Trinian's School books by Ronald Searle, alongside Cambridgeshire High School for Girls (now Long Road Sixth Form College). Searle donated original manuscripts and diaries to the school, which are held in the school archive.
