  • The artist Martina Schettina uses pentagrams in her paintings. The painting "Golden Pentagram" was shown at the Museumsquartier in Vienna in 2010.
  • Artist William Powhida employed pentagrams in his 2010 performance Surviving the Art World Using the Art of Sorcery at Hyperallergic in Brooklyn, NY. Famous quotes containing the words visual and/or arts:

For women ... bras, panties, bathing suits, and other stereotypical gear are visual reminders of a commercial, idealized feminine image that our real and diverse female bodies can’t possibly fit. Without these visual references, each individual woman’s body demands to be accepted on its own terms. We stop being comparatives. We begin to be unique.
    Gloria Steinem (b. 1934)

It never was in the power of any man or any community to call the arts into being. They come to serve his actual wants, never to please his fancy.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
