Famous quotes containing the words peace, river and/or airport:
“Whatever house you enter, first say, Peace to this house! And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you.”
—Bible: New Testament, Luke 10:5,6.
“The murmurs of many a famous river on the other side of the globe reach even to us here, as to more distant dwellers on its banks; many a poets stream, floating the helms and shields of heroes on its bosom.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.”
—Fran Lebowitz (b. 1950)
