Paul Mc Shane (Irish Footballer)

Paul David McShane (born 6 January 1986) is an Irish footballer who plays as a defender for Hull City and the Republic of Ireland national team.

McShane won the 2003 FA Youth Cup with Manchester United. He had stints with Brighton & Hove Albion, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland before his transfer to Hull City. Injuries to other defenders have provided him with numerous opportunities to work his way into the Republic of Ireland national football team, with his most notable moment in an Irish shirt coming when he was the Irish player directly behind Thierry Henry when Henry twice handballed late in extra-time of a play-off in Paris, to deny Ireland a place at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He was then called in from the international wilderness to the Irish squad for UEFA Euro 2012.

You’re very beautiful. So beautiful I’m going to make you immortal. Like Kharis, you will live forever. What I can do for you I can also do for myself. Neither time nor death can touch us. You and I together for eternity here in the temple of Karnak. You shall be my high priestess.
