Patrick Motors
Patrick Motors Ltd were initially a Coach builder and Automobile manufacturer in Birmingham, England in the 1930s.
The company had a workshop at 479-581, Bristol Road and showcased several cars and sports bodies at the Olympia Motor Show in the early 1930s.
They later became Patrick Motors Group (PMG) who were associated most closely with British Leyland/Austin and specialist sports car makers.
In the 1970s, PMG were involved in selling Lynx and Panther motor cars. PMG also operated petrol forecourts at some of their locations and were the first major retailer of ICI Petrol in Birmingham. As ICI did not supply Southern outlets, the forecourts in the Bournemouth area were branded PMG in the early 1980s.
PMG moved out of the motor trade over a number of years, from the mid-1980s. The last dealership to close was the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Solihull in 1999, known at the time as Patrick Solihull.
PMG Investments still exists at The Lakeside Centre, Birmingham. A fuller history is contained below.

Famous quotes containing the words patrick and/or motors:
“What strikes many twin researchers now is not how much identical twins are alike, but rather how different they are, given the same genetic makeup....Multiples dont walk around in lockstep, talking in unison, thinking identical thoughts. The bond for normal twins, whether they are identical or fraternal, is based on how they, as individuals who are keenly aware of the differences between them, learn to relate to one another.”
—Pamela Patrick Novotny (20th century)
“When General Motors has to go to the bathroom ten times a day, the whole countrys ready to let go. You heard of that market crash in 29? I predicted that.... I was nursing a director of General Motors. Kidney ailment, they said; nerves, I said. Then I asked myself, Whats General Motors got to be nervous about? Overproduction, I says. Collapse.”
—John Michael Hayes (b. 1919)
