Paradise Community Church

Paradise Community Church

Paradise Community Church (Influencers Church) is a multi-campus Christian church, with its main campus in Paradise, situated in north east Adelaide, South Australia, affiliated with Australian Christian Churches. The church was founded in 1907 by British evangelist Smith Wigglesworth. In 1969, Andrew Evans became its first non-founding senior pastor when it shifted to Klemzig. Under his ministry the church grew from weekly church attendance of 150 to over 2,000 people. In 1981, the church moved to its current location in Paradise. It is currently pastored by pastor Ashley Evans. In 2000, Ashley and Jane Evans took over senior pastors, and they have since grown the church from 3,000 to over 6,000 people. Ashley has also expanded the church to six locations (Adelaide, Hendon, Elizabeth Park, Perth - Australia, Atlanta - America) and introduced a Friday night service. It is the second-largest church in Australia.

As of 2012 Paradise Community Church changed the churches name to Influencers Church (Global) as the church is expanding internationally, starting with Atlanta, America.

Famous quotes containing the words paradise, community and/or church:

If you think about it seriously, all the questions about the soul and the immortality of the soul and paradise and hell are at bottom only a way of seeing this very simple fact: that every action of ours is passed on to others according to its value, of good or evil, it passes from father to son, from one generation to the next, in a perpetual movement.
    Antonio Gramsci (1891–1937)

The most perfect political community must be amongst those who are in the middle rank, and those states are best instituted wherein these are a larger and more respectable part, if possible, than both the other; or, if that cannot be, at least than either of them separate, so that being thrown into the balance it may prevent either scale from preponderating.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)

The tavern will compare favorably with the church. The church is the place where prayers and sermons are delivered, but the tavern is where they are to take effect, and if the former are good, the latter cannot be bad.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
