Panjab University, Chandigarh
Panjab University (Gurmukhi: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ) is one of the oldest universities in India. Punjab University offers courses and research in the fields of Science, Engineering & Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts and Sports. The University campus is residential, spread over an area of 550 acres (2.2 km2) in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh. The main administrative and academic buildings are located in sector 14, beside a health centre, a sports complex, hostels and residential housing. The university has 75 teaching and research departments and 15 centres/chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh. It has 188 affiliated colleges spread over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh & Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.
