Pandora's Box (OMD Song)

"Pandora's Box", subtitled "It's a Long, Long Way" for the US release, was the second single released by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark from the album Sugar Tax. The song was inspired by silent film actress Louise Brooks and is named after the 1929 film Pandora's Box she starred in. The phrase "Pandora's Box" does not appear in the song.

Three remixes were made for the single release, remixed by Danny Griffiths, Carl Segal, and Steve Anderson respectively. Anderson's shorter remix is the main single version. Additional remixes and edits appear on promotional and limited editions.

Famous quotes containing the word box:

It all ended with the circuslike whump of a monstrous box on the ear with which I knocked down the traitress who rolled up in a ball where she had collapsed, her eyes glistening at me through her spread fingers—all in all quite flattered, I think. Automatically, I searched for something to throw at her, saw the china sugar bowl I had given her for Easter, took the thing under my arm and went out, slamming the door.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)
