Governance

The district is headed by a superintendent - Walker Williams - and governed by a five-person, publicly elected school board.

The current board members are:

• Barbara Lucky, President (term expires in 2013)
• Larry Vanden Bos, Vice President (term expires in 2015)
• Anthony Collatos, Clerk (term expires in 2013)
• Erin G. LaMonte (term expires in 2015)
• Malcolm S. Sharp (term expires in 2013)

The current district officials are:

• Walker Williams - Superintendent of Schools, Former Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources
• Lydia Cano - Deputy Superintendent of Business Services
• William Franchini - Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources, Former long-time Executive Director of the Torrance Teachers Association
• Dr. Susan Adams Liberati - Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services, former Assistant Superintendent in Beverly Hills Unified School District, former administrator in Torrance Unified School District, married to Dr. Mario Liberati, Senior Director of Certificated Human Resources at Torrance Unified School District

High School Principals:

• Mitzi Cress - Palos Verdes Peninsula High School since 2010. Used to be Kelly Johnson 1991-2010
• Nick Stephany - Palos Verdes High School
• Rosemary Humphrey - Rancho Del Mar High School

• In addition, three high school students are appointed as student board members. For the school year 2012-2013 the student members are Najwa Abouchcharif, Andrew Bucklin, and Daniel Tartakovsky. For the school year 2007-08, they were Charlotte Poplawski and Debra Chang. Past student board members have included three children (Jason, Justin and Jodi) of former board member Ginny Snider. Snider was also the PVPUSD representative on the Board of Trustees for the Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCalROC); on Thursday, December 7, 2006, she was elected Clerk of the SCROC Board.
