Famous quotes containing the words forge, road, elementary and/or school:

... patriarchy creates megapatterns that affect us all—even as we forge different individual choices within them—just as do the megapatterns of nationalism or racism.
    Gloria Steinem (b. 1934)

The road became a channel running flocks
Of glossy birds like ripples over rocks.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

If men as individuals surrender to the call of their elementary instincts, avoiding pain and seeking satisfaction only for their own selves, the result for them all taken together must be a state of insecurity, of fear, and of promiscuous misery.
    Albert Einstein (1879–1955)

It’s a rare parent who can see his or her child clearly and objectively. At a school board meeting I attended . . . the only definition of a gifted child on which everyone in the audience could agree was “mine.”
    Jane Adams (20th century)
