Palia Kalan

Palia Kalan is a small peaceful city and a municipal board in Lakhimpur Kheri district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Dudhwa National Park, home to Rhinos, Tigers, with countless animal species, birds, insects, reptiles is adjacent to the town. The main occupation is farming (cane etc.) and also houses the Bajaj Industries Private Limited Sugar production plant, distillery and 1 ecofriendly plywood production unit. The sugar production plant is second largest sugar production unit in Asia and the plywood production plant is only 2nd plant in the world which produces plywood with beggasse.

The river Sharda flows close to the town. Palia is situated close to the Nepal border, with the Nepalese town of Dhangari around 25 km by road. It is connected to "'Lucknow"' through SH-25(State highway 25 Palia-Lucknow rajyamarg). Palia has an airstrip which is approximately 5 km far from the city. This airstrip is for emergencies but it is usually used by politicians during election time. It is a quick growing town of prosperous and rich Sikh's farmers. The town is connected through small track railway lines. The area is surrounded by mailani, bhira, khutar, shahzahapur is the main city from palia kala its about 96 km. where you can find broad railway lines. you can directly go to Palia by taking direct buses from Jalandhar and Ludhiana. There are three buses go to Palia Kalan, but if you want to go palia by train from Punjab you need to take howarah mail 13006, howrah express 13050. It will take you to Shahazahapur. From there you need to take a bus to Palia Kalan.
