Palestrina

Palestrina (ancient Praeneste; Ancient Greek: Πραίνεστος) is an ancient city and comune (municipality) with a population of about 18,000, in Lazio, c. 35 km east of Rome. It is connected to latter by the Via Prenestina.

It is the namesake of composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.
