University Colony
Also known as Palkalai nagar, this staff colony of University Of Madras has 200 houses for the staff. However, outsiders and a few non employees of the University also live in this colony.There is a Ganesh(Vinayagar) temple at the beginning of the road leading to the colony which ends at the Palavakkam beach. Najeeb residential plot(Azra House) is also located at Jaya Shankar Nagar.
