Paisley Lions were a motorcycle speedway team that participated in the British National League in 1975 and 1976.
The team was based at Love Street in Paisley, Scotland, home of St Mirren F.C..
The club's colours were red and gold with a Rampant Lion. The first meeting was held on the 5th April 1975 in front of a crowd of over six thousand people.
The team did not enjoy a great deal of success and, despite a brave effort by their supporters at the end of the 1976 season, the final meeting was held on 25 September 1976 when the Lions beat Boston 52-25.

Famous quotes containing the word lions:
“If oxen and horses and lions had hands and were able to draw with their hands and do the same things as men, horses would draw the shapes of gods to look like horses and oxen would draw them to look like oxen, and each would make the gods bodies have the same shape as they themselves had.”
—Xenophanes (c. 570478 B.C.)
