Oxford West and Abingdon (UK Parliament Constituency) - Boundaries

Boundaries

The constituency includes the town of Abingdon, the village of Kidlington, and the western and northern parts of the city of Oxford, as well as a minority of the colleges of the University of Oxford. From 1983 to 2010 it included Oxford city centre and most of the Oxford Colleges, but the 2010 boundary changes transferred these to Oxford East.

Famous quotes containing the word boundaries:

It is the story-teller’s task to elicit sympathy and a measure of understanding for those who lie outside the boundaries of State approval.
    Graham Greene (1904–1991)

Not too many years ago, a child’s experience was limited by how far he or she could ride a bicycle or by the physical boundaries that parents set. Today ... the real boundaries of a child’s life are set more by the number of available cable channels and videotapes, by the simulated reality of videogames, by the number of megabytes of memory in the home computer. Now kids can go anywhere, as long as they stay inside the electronic bubble.
    Richard Louv (20th century)

The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?
    Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1845)
