Oxford City Nomads F.C. - Ground

Ground

Oxford City Nomads now play at Court Place farm in Marston, near Oxford, Oxfordshire, where they share the ground with Oxford City F.C.. They used to play at Margaret Road except in the 1990–91 season, where they moved to Risinghurst Cricket Club, but moved back a year later to Margaret Road due to a bogey pitch.

Famous quotes containing the word ground:

The sight of one of these frontier houses, built of these great logs, whose inhabitants have unflinchingly maintained their ground many summers and winters in the wilderness, reminds me of famous forts, like Ticonderoga or Crown Point, which have sustained memorable sieges.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

[If not re-elected in 1864] then it will be my duty to so co-operate with the President elect, as to save the Union between the election and the inauguration; as he will have secured his election on such ground that he can not possibly save it afterwards.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

One need not be a great beau, a seductive catch, to do it effectively. Any man is better than none. To shrink from giving so much happiness at such small expense, to evade the business on the ground that it has hazards—this is the act of a puling and tacky fellow.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)
