Out of Time (The Rolling Stones Song) - Song Profile

Song Profile

The song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Mick Jagger produced a version for Chris Farlowe, a fellow Immediate artist. It is distinctively known for its different versions. The first version appeared on the UK version of 1966's Aftermath and featured a marimba part played by Brian Jones. The song was 5:37 long. Then it appeared in the US on 1967's Flowers as a shorter version. It then appeared on the 1975 ABKCO compilation album Metamorphosis. This version was, in fact, the backing track from the Chris Farlowe version, only with a Mick Jagger lead vocal. It was also released as a single, reaching #45 in the UK.
