Mental Health, and Attitudes To Life

Hitzfeld said that when he first left Bayern in 2004 he 'felt burnt out' and 'was a bit depressed', and 'it took me two years to recover.' He then had 'the best years at Bayern' on his return. He stated his views that people should not get too excited about things, not get too down about things, and treat each situation individually.

Famous quotes containing the words mental, attitudes and/or life:

A method of child-rearing is not—or should not be—a whim, a fashion or a shibboleth. It should derive from an understanding of the developing child, of his physical and mental equipment at any given stage, and, therefore, his readiness at any given stage to adapt, to learn, to regulate his behavior according to parental expectations.
    Selma H. Fraiberg (20th century)

The mother’s and father’s attitudes toward the child correspond to the child’s own needs.... Mother has the function of making him secure in life, father has the function of teaching him, guiding him to cope with those problems with which the particular society the child has been born into confronts him.
    Erich Fromm (1900–1980)

No Life can pompless pass away—
    The lowliest career
To the same Pageant wends its way
    As that exalted here—
    Emily Dickinson (1830–1886)
