To increase public understanding about Oregon forests and their management, OFRI produces educational spots aired on broadcast and cable television; print, radio and Internet advertising; and online newsletters. It offers a speakers bureau, and co-sponsors and supports conferences and forest field trips.

Famous quotes containing the words public and/or education:
“The man who would change the name of Arkansas is the original, iron-jawed, brass-mouthed, copper-bellied corpse-maker from the wilds of the Ozarks! He is the man they call Sudden Death and General Desolation! Sired by a hurricane, damd by an earthquake, half-brother to the cholera, nearly related to the smallpox on his mothers side!”
—Administration in the State of Arka, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“... all education must be unsound which does not propose for itself some object; and the highest of all objects must be that of living a life in accordance with Gods Will.”
—Catherine E. Beecher (18001878)
