Classes
The Order has five classes:
- Keðja með stórkrossstjörnu or Collar with Grand Cross, only for heads of state
- Stórkrossriddari or Grand Cross
- Stórriddari með stjörnu or Commander with Star
- Stórriddari or Commander
- Riddari or Knight
