Opposite Day - Paradoxical

Paradoxical

The statement "Today is opposite day" is a version of the Liar paradox; the statement that it is true means that the statement must be false (since the statement says that it is opposite day); but if it is false then the day must be true and so on without end. Similarly, if the statement is false, then that must mean that the day really is opposite day; meaning the statement is true; and so on without end.

Famous quotes containing the word paradoxical:

So far as we are human, what we do must be either evil or good: so far as we do evil or good, we are human: and it is better, in a paradoxical way, to do evil than to do nothing: at least we exist.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
