Open World Program

Open World is a program, sponsored by the US Congress, that brings Russian professionals on week-long interactive, educational exchanges to the United States.

Famous quotes containing the words open, world and/or program:

    “What care I for a goose-feather bed,
With the sheet turned down so bravely, O?
For to-night I shall sleep in a cold open field,
Along with the wraggle taggle gipsies, O!”
—Unknown. The Wraggle Taggle Gipsies (l. 33–36)

Youth enters the world with very happy prejudices in her own favour. She imagines herself not only certain of accomplishing every adventure, but of obtaining those rewards which the accomplishment may deserve. She is not easily persuaded to believe that the force of merit can be resisted by obstinacy and avarice, or its lustre darkened by envy and malignity.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

O Jesse had a wife, a mourner all her life
And the children they were brave,
But the dirty little coward that shot Mr. Howard
He laid Jesse James in his grave.
—Administration in the State of Miss, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
