Old Street Roundabout - Connections

Connections

City Road heads south from the roundabout towards the City of London and Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. It also diverts north west via City Road towards Angel, King's Cross, St. Pancras and Euston. Old Street also heads north via New North Road towards Canonbury, Highbury Corner and Holloway Road. The roundabout, the northwestern part of City Road and Great Eastern Street form the boundary of the London congestion charge zone (CCZ).

Old Street heads west towards Clerkenwell and the West End and eastbound towards the East End, Shoreditch and Dalston.

Famous quotes containing the word connections:

Growing up human is uniquely a matter of social relations rather than biology. What we learn from connections within the family takes the place of instincts that program the behavior of animals; which raises the question, how good are these connections?
    Elizabeth Janeway (b. 1913)

A foreign minister, I will maintain it, can never be a good man of business if he is not an agreeable man of pleasure too. Half his business is done by the help of his pleasures: his views are carried on, and perhaps best, and most unsuspectedly, at balls, suppers, assemblies, and parties of pleasure; by intrigues with women, and connections insensibly formed with men, at those unguarded hours of amusement.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)

I have no connections here; only gusty collisions,
rootless seedlings forced into bloom, that collapse.
    ...
I am the Visiting Poet: a real unicorn,
a wind-up plush dodo, a wax museum of the Movement.
People want to push the buttons and see me glow.
    Marge Piercy (b. 1936)
