Athletics
Okinawa Shogaku High School has a baseball team which has participated in the "KÅshien" (the all-Japan high school baseball tournament) four times and won the tournament in 1999 and 2008. The 1999 championship was the first ever first-place finish by an Okinawan team.
Also in 2008, the school's boxing club won the all-Japan tournament.
The school also has a very active basketball club.
