Ohio State Route 571 - History

History

It was part of the Pikes Peak Ocean-to-Ocean Highway which was completed in 1927. Before 1932 the portion of the route from Greenville to the Indiana state line was denominated route 29.

From 1932 to 1962, what is now State Route 571 was denominated State Route 71. The 71 number had to be retired following the opening of Interstate 71 through Ohio. State Route 571 was certified with its current (2007) route in 1962.
