Ohio State Route 444 - History

History

  • 1959 – Original route certified; originally routed from its current southern terminus to Interstate 70 (then U.S. Route 40) 4 miles north of Fairborn along the former alignment of State Route 4 (this route was the former State Route 52 before 1926).
  • 1976 – Northern terminus moved to its current position when Interstate 675 was completed and signed along the alignment from State Route 444’s current northern terminus north to Interstate 70.
  • October 9, 2012 - Portion of route through WPAFB rerouted through Fairborn for security reasons.
