Member Federations

There are currently 13 member federations of the Oceania Swimming Association (listed here with their FINA abbreviation following their country name):

  • American Samoa (ASA) – American Samoa Swimming Association
  • Australia (AUS) – Swimming Australia
  • Cook Islands (COK) – Cook Islands Aquatics Federation
  • Fiji (FIJ) – Fiji Swimming
  • Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) – Federated States of Micronesia Swimming Association
  • Guam (GUM) – Guam Swimming Federation
  • Marshall Islands (MIL) – Marshall Islands Swimming Federation
  • Northern Mariana Islands (NMA) – Northern Mariana Islands Swimming Federation
  • New Zealand (NZL) – Swimming New Zealand
  • Palau (PLW) – Palau Swimming Association
  • Papua New Guinea (PNG) – Papua New Guinea Swimming
  • Samoa (SAM) – Samoa Swimming Federation
  • Tahiti (TAH) – Federation Tahitienne de Natation

Note: The Solomon Islands (SOL), Tonga (TGA) and Vanuatu (VAN) should also be OSA members, based on geographic location; however, as of April 2010, they are not listed member on the OSA's member roster. In July 2009, an OSA President report cited the Solomon Islands non-listing is due to a lack of participation/organization in-country; while Vanuatu's non-member status is due to its new member status with FINA (i.e. the OSA may not have met yet since Vanuatu became a FINA member). As Tonga became a member in January 2010, it is presumed too recently approved for inclusion.

Famous quotes containing the word member:

The reason why men enter into society, is the preservation of their property; and the end why they choose and authorize a legislative, is, that there may be laws made, and rules set, as guards and fences to the properties of all the members of the society: to limit the power, and moderate the dominion, of every part and member of the society.
    John Locke (1632–1704)
