Future Redevelopment
In September 2011, the state government announced plans to grade-separate the level crossing at Oaklands Interchange by building a railway overpass over Diagonal Road. This will necessitate rebuilding the Oaklands Interchange railway station on a bridge, similar to that found at the South Road tram overpass and the Port Adelaide railway station.
