Now That's What I Call Music XIII (UK Series)

Now That's What I Call Music XIII or Now 13 was released in 1988. The album is the 13th edition of the (UK) Now! series and one of only two editions to use Roman numerals in the title as opposed to numbers (Now 2 was also released as numerals). It was released on vinyl, audio cassette & CD formats. It reached number 1 on the UK Albums Chart for four weeks. This would be the last compilation album to be number 1 on the chart, as the UK Compilation Chart was created in January 1989 due to the dominance of compilations in the albums chart over the previous few years, and subsequent Now! albums would chart there instead.

Now 13 features three songs which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart: "The Only Way Is Up", "A Groovy Kind of Love" and "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother".

Famous quotes containing the words call and/or music:

With the holders holding my hand nearing the call of the bird,
Comrades mine and I in the midst, and their memory ever to keep, for the dead I loved so well,
For the sweetest, wisest soul of all my days and
lands—and this for his dear sake,
Lilac and star and bird twined with the chant of my soul,
There in the fragrant pines and the cedars dusk and dim.
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)

A man in all the world’s new fashion planted,
That hath a mint of phrases in his brain.
One who the music of his own vain tongue
    Doth ravish like enchanting harmony.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
