  • NBA basketball:
    • The Phoenix Suns decide to keep Yuta Tabuse as the last man on their regular season roster. Thus, Tabuse becomes the first Japanese born player ever to participate in an NBA season. (NBA/Suns)
    • The Houston Rockets sign Tracy McGrady to a multi-year contract extension. His current contract will net him US$47.1m over the next three years, while the contract extension is worth US$85.7m for the following four years.
