  • Thirteen people were killed and more than 80 seriously injured while watching the football game between Stanford and California. Over 100 persons had gathered on the roof of the Pacific Glass Works in Palo Alto for a free view of the game. When the roof collapsed, the victims fell into vats of molten glass.
