Norwood Morialta High School - Exchange Program

Exchange Program

The school has established links with sister schools located internationally in China (Yantai High School, Yantai), Germany (Berufliche Schule des Kreis Segeberg in Norderstedt, Norderstedt), Greece (1st Lykeio Patras, Patras), Japan (Takahashi High School, Okayama), and Italy (Scuola Media Statale Antonio Genovesi, Salerno).

Annual exchanges occur with each of the sister schools, with TNMHS sending students to a sister schools one year, and hosting students from that school the following year. This gives students the opportunity to experience both the culture and education systems of another country and enhance student learning and communications skills in other languages. There are also opportunities for individual students to go on a long term exchanges overseas. The tenth anniversary of the exchange with Japan was celebrated in September 2000.

Famous quotes containing the words exchange and/or program:

There is a delicate balance of putting yourself last and not being a doormat and thinking of yourself first and not coming off as selfish, arrogant, or bossy. We spend the majority of our lives attempting to perfect this balance. When we are successful, we have many close, healthy relationships. When we are unsuccessful, we suffer the natural consequences of damaged and sometimes broken relationships. Children are just beginning their journey on this important life lesson.
—Cindy L. Teachey. “Building Lifelong Relationships—School Age Programs at Work,” Child Care Exchange (January 1994)

... here hundreds sit and play Bingo; here the bright lights of Broadway burn through a sea haze; here Somebodies tumble over other Somebodies and over Nobodies as well.
—For the State of New Jersey, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
