Norton Bridge

Norton Bridge is a village in Staffordshire, England. Until 2004 it was served by Norton Bridge railway station.

Arguably Norton Bridge is a hamlet as it is in the Parish of Chebsey and does not have its own church.

Local amenities

At present, Norton Bridge is lacking amenities for residents. There is a children's park which consists of four swings and a small (mostly vandalised) climbing frame. In addition to the park there is a phone box operated by British Telecom, which is scheduled to close soon and no longer accepts coins, and a postbox. However, Norton Bridge's only public house, "The Railway Inn" has recently re-opened.

Famous quotes containing the words norton and/or bridge:

The question has been asked, “What is a woman?” A woman is a person who makes choices. A woman is a dreamer. A woman is a planner. A woman is a maker, and a molder. A woman is a person who makes choices. A woman builds bridges. A woman makes children and makes cars. A woman writes poetry and songs. A woman is a person who makes choices. You cannot even simply become a mother anymore. You must choose motherhood. Will you choose change? Can you become its vanguard?
    —Eleanor Holmes Norton (b. 1937)

Crime seems to change character when it crosses a bridge or a tunnel. In the city, crime is taken as emblematic of class and race. In the suburbs, though, it’s intimate and psychological—resistant to generalization, a mystery of the individual soul.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
