Northwest Youth Leadership Conference

The Northwest Youth Leadership Conference is an annual conference held at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. It is currently in its 18th year in operation and usually occurs within the month of June after local schools have let out for summer vacation. It is sponsored by the Military Order of the World Wars and the surrounding chapters in the area.

Love, whose power youth feels, is not suitable for the elderly, just as little as anything that presupposes productivity. It is rare that productivity lasts through the years.

During the first World War women in the United States had a chance to try their capacities in wider fields of executive leadership in industry. Must we always wait for war to give us opportunity? And must the pendulum always swing back in the busy world of work and workers during times of peace?
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)
