North Toronto Christian School - Program

Program

Traditional Christian values are promoted and integrated into the arts, sciences, physical education, and all aspects of the school program. Dedicated teachers seek to provide guidance and instill a sense of self-worth into students, which is of inestimable value over a lifetime. NTCS promotes the love of God and teaches respect for others, obedience to parents, and non-violent solutions to problems.

NTCS is an interdenominational Christian school that adopts an evangelical worldview in all of its activities. All of the staff are committed evangelical Christians. The staff endeavours to "teach by precept and example" the Christian values upon which this nation was established and which are still very important to Christian families trying to raise their children in a humanistic, pluralistic society. As a staff, every effort is made to support the Christian values that parents are building into their children at home.

It is the school's goal to expose its students to the Biblical principles and truths that should guide their daily lives. NTCS aims not just to educate, but to develop Christ-like character in its students. NTCS differs from many private schools by accepting students with a wide range of academic abilities, not just the top 20%. The school is very proud of the fact that virtually every student finishes high school and moves on to successful post-secondary studies.

Famous quotes containing the word program:

Having behind us the producing masses of this nation and the world, supported by the commercial interests, the labor interests, and the toilers everywhere, we will answer their demand for a gold standard by saying to them: You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold.
—Administration in the State of Neva, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

They had their fortunes to make, everything to gain and nothing to lose. They were schooled in and anxious for debates; forcible in argument; reckless and brilliant. For them it was but a short and natural step from swaying juries in courtroom battles over the ownership of land to swaying constituents in contests for office. For the lawyer, oratory was the escalator that could lift a political candidate to higher ground.
—Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

Lead bullets flattened by human teeth have been found on the camp site. Soldiers who had been caught stealing food from nearby farms customarily chewed on a bullet as the lash was laid on their bare backs.
