Nolan Catholic High School - Viking Club

Viking Club

Viking Club Mission: The Viking Club is an organization which, in conjunction with the school's administration, develops, coordinates, and supports extracurricular athletic functions by providing funding so that students may experience and enjoy athletics. While the Viking Club by-laws prohibit non-athletic expenditures, the board and membership has chosen to contribute to supporting teacher recognition and other community services, such as fund-raising efforts for Hurricane Katrina victims.

Membership: The membership is composed of parents or guardians of students and NCHS faculty/staff. It also includes alumni and friends of Nolan Catholic High School who have purchased an activity pass.

Famous quotes containing the words viking and/or club:

Rice and peas fit into that category of dishes where two ordinary foods, combined together, ignite a pleasure far beyond the capacity of either of its parts alone. Like rhubarb and strawberries, apple pie and cheese, roast pork and sage, the two tastes and textures meld together into the sort of subtle transcendental oneness that we once fantasized would be our experience when we finally found the ideal mate.
John Thorne, U.S. cookbook writer. Simple Cooking, “Rice and Peas: A Preface with Recipes,” Viking Penguin (1987)

The barriers of conventionality have been raised so high, and so strangely cemented by long existence, that the only hope of overthrowing them exists in the union of numbers linked together by common opinion and effort ... the united watchword of thousands would strike at the foundation of the false system and annihilate it.
Mme. Ellen Louise Demorest 1824–1898, U.S. women’s magazine editor and woman’s club movement pioneer. Demorest’s Illustrated Monthly and Mirror of Fashions, p. 203 (January 1870)
