Overview

  • When Kalhora, King of Sindh, killed important Talpur commanders of the army with conspiracy, the majority of the Baluch tribesmen, led by Talpur, and Nizamani commanders, revolted against the King. However, Jatoi and Khosa tribesmen remained loyal with the Kalhora king Mian Abdul Nabi Kalhoro. Nim jo goth is famous village in district Hyderabad, the famous personality is raees Muhammad Khan nizamani (PTI).
  • The revolting Sindhi tribesmen were ultimately successful in overthrowing the Kalhora kingdom, and established their own Sindhi kingdom, under the leadership of Talpur dynasty. The Nizamanis played an important role in consolidating Baluch power in Sindh with Kaiser Khan Nizamani, grandson of Nizam Khan, negotiating with the Afghan king Taimoor Shah (son of Ahmed Shah Abdalee) to grant rulership of Sindh to his nephew Mir Fateh Ali Khan Talpur (son of Bibi Khair-un-nissa alais Maee Khairee, a sister of Kaiser Khan Nizamani). This was followed by Ghulam Ali Nizamani, son of Kaiser Khan Nizamani, becoming Governor of Thatta District - an important commercial district of Sindh.
  • When British colonials started to occupy Sindh, initially they were beaten back by the Sindhi army of Sindh, composed of Sindhi tribesmen. The British army was mainly composed of Bengali soldiers. Sindhi used a Guerrilla technique, whereby they used to attack the army camps of the British during the darkness of night. This caused havoc among the Bengali soldiers of British colonials. The British then recruited the Khosa tribesemen to fight with the ruling Baluch tribesmen of Sindh. This techniques was highly successful. Chandio tribesmen turned to the Britisehrs side. Sindhi tribesmen fought two wars near Hyderabad. Thousands of Baluch tribesmen were Martyered in front of British Artillery Fire Power. Large number of Nizamani, Murree, Chang, and Gopang tribesmen fought bravely, and many were martered in defending the kingdom of Sindh.
  • Ali Bux Nizamani was the first Hurr who fought against the ruler Mirs pre-Britisher era. His story of bravery is very famous and he was very fast runner and some time looked like flying because of his big trousers. In first 1890 Hurr Movement Darayah Khan Nizamani played a big role. On order of his Peer Pagaro he surrendered to British army and jailed in Kala Pani at Andaman Islands. But he not accepted slavery and crossed Indian ocean to Barma and came back to Sindh. His stories of bravery and betrayal are famous. During the freedom movement of Hurr Tahreek of Sooriah Badshah Subghatullah Shah, Nizamani tribesmen took very active part in the Guerrilla war against the British Colonials. Meero Hurr (Mir Muhammad Nizamani) was a very famous active gurrilla warrior and commander in the Hurr movement. At that time Serai Sawan Khan Nizamani and Umed Ali Nizamani also set examples. In 1965 war Nizamanis were part of Hurr force and they captured Fort of Monabao in India. At that time Umed Ali Nizamani and Bakhsho Nizamani showed their bravery and Gorilla war wisdom.
  • Nizamanis never took undue benefits from their rulers like other tribes in Sindh despite having important administrative positions. They even served as military spokespersons in many delegations to Afghanistan during Talpur era of Sindh.
  • Nizamani also lives in Tando Qaiser, a village 5 kilometers away from Tando Jam . Mostly Nizamani lives in Matli District (badin) and there are famous personalities are Raees Ali Muhammad Nizamani, Raees Piral Khan nizamani and Haji Abdul Gafoor nizamani.
