Casting

The role has been portrayed by Tricia Cast since June 26, 1986. Her first run lasted fifteen years. In September 2000, it was announced that Cast had requested to be released from her contract with the soap, leading to much speculation to as why the actress had chosen to leave. Cast's publicist later issued a statement, saying: "Tricia has decided to take a sabbatical from Hollywood for an indefinite period of time. She is looking forward to spending some quality time with her new husband in Tennessee." Her last airdate was February 1, 2001.

In 2008, it was announced that Cast was to return for several guest appearances along with other previous actors, airing from November 14 to 20, 2008. The actress later returned for a bigger storyline on May 1, 2009, and has remained on a recurring status since then.

Famous quotes containing the word casting:

    All we know
Is that we are a little early, that
    Today has that special, lapidary
    Todayness that the sunlight reproduces
Faithfully in casting twig-shadows on blithe
Sidewalks. No previous day would have been like this.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

For the gods, though slow to see, see well, whenever a man casting aside worship turns folly.
    Sophocles (497–406/5 B.C.)

This I do know and can say to you: Our country is in more danger now than at any time since the Declaration of Independence. We don’t dare follow the Lindberghs, Wheelers and Nyes, casting suspicion, sowing discord around the leadership of Franklin D. Roosevelt. We don’t want revolution among ourselves.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
