Athletics
Newman University teams, nicknamed athletically as the Jets, are part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II level, primarily competing in the Heartland Conference. The Jets formerly competed in the in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) until the end of the 2005-06 season. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis and wrestling; while women's sports include basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
