Transportation
There are two ways to get onto the island. The most common and convenient is to take a short 10 minute foot-passenger-only ferry from downtown Nanaimo at Maffeo-Sutton Park. This ferry only runs during the summer months. The second way is to take your own boat/kayak/canoe over.
