Newcastle Coach Station is the coach station serving Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
It is located on St James' Boulevard in the city centre, a five-minute walk from the city's railway station and Central Station on the Tyne and Wear Metro.
The station has five coach bays and its facilities include a booking office, waiting room, staff rest rooms and toilets. Above the bays is a translucent curved canopy roof with a glazed block screen wall.
The station is one of three bus stations in the city, the others being Eldon Square bus station and Haymarket bus station. The Megabus does not stop here, stopping outside the railway station instead.
Famous quotes containing the words coach and/or station:
“Oh! joyous hearts! enfired with holy flame!
Is speech thus tasseled with praise?
Will not your inward fire of joy contain:
That it in open flames doth blaze?
For in Christs coach saints sweetly sing,
As they to glory ride therein.”
—Edward Taylor (16451729)
“With boys you always know where you stand. Right in the path of a hurricane. Its all there. The fruit flies hovering over their waste can, the hamster trying to escape to cleaner air, the bedrooms decorated in Early Bus Station Restroom.”
—Erma Bombeck (20th century)
