The New York State Field Band Conference or NYSFBC is a local circuit for marching band competitions, based in the U.S. state of New York. Championships are held at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York each year in the last week of October or first week of November. The conference was created in February 1972 to standardize rules and provide constructive feedback at competitions.
An unofficial forum has been created for the band members, parents and staff of participating bands. The NYSFBC Board has over 550 members and has become the "go-to" website for the conference. Scores are posted as they are announced, show themes and music are revealed/shared. Parents, staff, alumni, and many others share their constructive feedback on performances and discuss different ideas behind marching band, guard, percussion, etc. Many students/parents/staff enjoy reading through these free critiques to see what they can improve on.
