New York International Airport

New York International Airport may refer to one of the following airports:

  • John F. Kennedy International Airport, the city's main international airport, which at one time was named New York International Airport, Anderson Field.
  • Newark Liberty International Airport, an airport situated 20 miles southwest of New York City (Note: This airport mainly serves Northern New Jersey, but many people in the New York Metropolitan Area use this as an alternative to JFK.)
  • LaGuardia Airport, although this airport doesn't mainly serve international flights, it has some flights to Canada.

Famous quotes containing the words york and/or airport:

The American who has been confined, in his own country, to the sight of buildings designed after foreign models, is surprised on entering York Minster or St. Peter’s at Rome, by the feeling that these structures are imitations also,—faint copies of an invisible archetype.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.
    Fran Lebowitz (b. 1950)
